About
Snakes are just a part of life here on the Sunshine Coast. We are home to the most venomous snakes on Earth in Australia.
Snakes are defensive creatures who would rather hide from you than hurt you. Often if left alone, the snake will move on from your property in its own time. Having said that, if you do find that one has lost its way and is hanging around on your property posing a threat to you or your animals, the safest thing to do is call a licensed Snake Catcher to come and relocate the snake for you.
Never attempt to move the snake yourself as it is extremely unsafe for both yourself and the snake, and it’s also illegal in the state of Queensland. The safest thing to do is use a licensed snake catcher. I am always available to come and relocate the snake to somewhere more appropriate.

Call out fee includes locating snake catching, relocating snake to a more appropriate area, day or night! There are no hidden costs.

What to do if you find a snake on your property
- Don’t panic!
- Don’t attempt to touch or catch the snake even if you suspect it is harmless. Some harmless snakes can be easily confused with highly venomous ones, and even pythons have sharp teeth that can cause harm when bitten.
- Clear the area of kids, pets and others
- If the snake is inside and it’s possible to do so safely, close all doors and windows and block the gaps under the doors to prevent it from moving to another area of the house.
- Give me a call or text, and I will come to your property as soon as possible, usually within 30 mins.
- Once the snake is caught, I will relocate it back to its own habitat and away from you!

Snake Bite First Aid
Snake bites are not common in Australia, but all should be treated as life threatening. Always call 000 if you have been, or suspect you have been bitten by a snake.
Snakes force venom out under pressure through fangs in the upper jaw. The spread of snake venom depends on its absorption through the lymphatic system, so it’s extremely important to compress the area with a bandage as soon as possible.
- Stay calm and call 000.
- Have the person lay or sit still, but safely away from the snake if still present.
- If the bite is on a limb, apply a broad pressure bandage over the bite site as soon as possible. If on the face or trunk, use a hard flat item to put pressure against the bite site.
- Then apply a further elasticised or firm bandage - start at fingers or toes and move up the limb as far as can be reached. Apply tightly but without stopping blood flow.
- Splint the limb including the joints on either side of the bite.
- If available use a marker to indicate on the bandage where the bite was.
- Write down the time that the person was bitten and when the bandage was applied.
- Write down the appearance of the snake if it was seen.
- If the person becomes unconscious and not breathing normally, Commence CPR and Defibrillation.
